Pay it forward

The Petra business model pivots from a position which aims to maximize positive and impactful change in people, partner organizations, our society and our wide, shared world.

In addition to the focused mentorship and tight-knit team culture to nurture our own professionals in-house, in 2021 we started a structured annual Pay It Forward Initiative. The idea emerged from a place of collective gratitude, duty to future generations and the urgency of Liberia’s environmental challenges. Through this initiative, each of our Petra team members is involved in offering their skills, time, networks and resources in service of advancing opportunities for others.

While the initiative evolves each year, our core focus remains to invest in and enable a new generation of ESG professionals, garner further interest in scientific environmental research and advance the notion of shared responsbility for sustaining and managing our environment and natural resources.

Our winners from the past two years are spotlighted below and a copy of our impact report for the 2022 round is now available HERE. We were supported to implement this through TRIBE, a youth-led social impact consultancy.
